There has been a resurgence of interest in radio-based SCADA telemetry solutions for utilities through the introduction of new technology such as IP networking and QAM modulation. Many of these systems have been deployed successfully in the varied conditions of Australasia, the US and Europe. This presentation will cover both the RF and network design issues, actual utility case study experience, and present some practical measurement strategies to evaluate radio performance.
