Acting Inspector Wayne Hutchings

Body Worn Camera Project Organisational Capability Command

Queensland Police Service

Acting Inspector Wayne Hutchings joined the Queensland Police Service as a Cadet in 1985. He has served in country and metropolitan locations in operational and corporate support areas. He is currently relieving as Acting Inspector in charge of the QPS Body Worn Video initiative.

Senior Sergeant Hutchings has managed a number of significant projects for the QPS including the Australasian Drug Strategy Conference and the Queensland Police Spectacular. His most recent project role was the management of the rollout of Conducted Energy Weapons to the Queensland Police Service. He is a currently qualified TASER Master Instructor having undertaken this training at the TASER International Training Facility in Phoenix, Arizona in 2011 and 2013.

He has three teenage children and in his spare time enjoys camping, 4WDing and passionately following Australian Rules Football.
